My boy Bobby kept pestering me with A$ap Rocky over the last few months, and as I am an very ignorant individual, I faded it out for the most part. But as the guy had a fresh hype recently I was pleasantly surprised when I heard his mixtape “LiveLoveA$ap”.
So here is his new single “Goldie” of his debut album, which happens to be called “LiveLoveA$ap” as well. The track is really nice…

it seems that I didn’t even fully recover from last saturdays mega blast with Mr Deluxe and now we have the next doin’it date comin’ up. We have our longtime buddy VDJ Grec Nice on the decks , and if you’re into Video-DJing you have to see his set.
Here a small demo of what you can expect.
On another note : ( After last saturdays heat dilemma )
OUR AIR CONDITIONING IS UP AND RUNNING AGAIN !!!
so if you have been sweating like a pig on the Deluxe Soundsystem night, ( and believe me I was ) you can expect to have a much better experience this time I would love to tell you the story of how Dan Gerous and his buddy have been screwing holes right into the AC Control at the peak time of Samy’s set last week, desperately trying to get it back up, but this is gonna take me way too far…..
I am really looking forward to see you guys at Crux this saturday.
I’ve been an addict to the HipHop game for quite some time now. Back when I started to listen to rap ( with an open and understanding mind, i might add ) I liked all the facets that HipHop had to offer. B-boying was something I started when I was 3 years old ( just to quit my professional career at the age of 3 1/2 ), I always liked Graffiti even though I cannot draw something if my life would depend on it… and I loved music.
The main thing that got me actually hooked were the lyrics. When I was old enough to acquire enough knowledge of the english language to understand the stuff being said on rap songs, I was immediately drawn to artists like Mos Def, Talib, Eminem, Nas, Canibus or Rakim. They all seemed just a lil’ more on the intelligent side than others.
Speaking of the music itself I disliked most of their stuff though. I always liked the ruffer harder music ( ie. Mobb Deep, Group Home, Biggie and the likes for the 90ies east coast phase, or Lil Wayne, Fifty, Drake, Pharrell and so on, to name a few more contemporary artists)
So my dilemma comprised to a few short words :
If it’s bangin’ there is no brains in it and vice versa.
And so I have to say that I lost a lotta interest in what people had to say on their records, cause I actually like to enjoy the music ! You know chords, drums etc…. Even though Lil Wayne and the likes do kill most of their tracks, when it comes to conjuring words, I hardly remember any line for it’s true story or meaning most of the times.
Now Mr Gambino changed this a bit. Even though I stumbled into his work by total accident the guy immediately got my attention when I heard a few of his wordplays. He produces most of his stuff himself as well and…guess what… perfectly fits my taste. “Bonfire”, “Freaks and Geeks”, “You See Me” and even the uptempo tracks like “Lights Turned On” or “Heartbeat” are on continuous rotation in my car.
Now what I have definitely haven’t experienced is the way his lyrics keep overwhelming me. I find myself dazzled quite some time about the true meaning of the words. I do try to look up most of it, but the many levels a combination of mere 5 words can have, really baffles me.
To top it all of the guy is actually funny ! Not dick pussy I fucked your mom, brag and boast kinda funny. He is an actual stand up comedian ( quite good one, but for me personally, he is a bit to jittery on stage ) so he knows how to create funny lines and wordplays. My personal favorite right now must be : “She got an ugly friend? Roll solo; Can I stay at your place? No hobo”, on “You See Me”. Hit rapgenius if you can’t figure out what it means.
So now I will stop here, as I keep harassing almost everybody in my circle of friends with Mr. Glovers work, and I promise to stop for at least until he has a new release. BUT I really advise you to get his latest album “Camp” and see his show “Donald Glover – Weirdo” of which I have attached a short youtube clip. Also I have added the Video for “You See Me” … and as I come to think of it – maybe I’m just not the biggest fanboy on earth but I really relate to the guy ’cause
…well…. let’s say i am no stranger to the “yellow fever” …. ( I hope my wife is not gonna read this )
Well, not so much to say about this one other than it’s a BANGER ! chopped vocal samples somehow always get me.
Theophilus London is one underrated artist imho, and A$ap Rocky seems to be the man of the hour according to my boy bobby….
so I will stop rambling and advise you to enjoy this one !

We have a true up and coming talent on the decks this time.
“DJ Batman” is one of Dj Passions own protégés and comes highly recommended by our booty-shakin, drink mixin “trainee” Mrs. Dee Shorty aka Dee Kleine.
It’s also gonna be her first day behind the bar as I hear.
Which meas that I will have more time to offer you delightful people some “Schlüpferstürmer” on the house… !
Find me behind the decks at Crux on the 9th; and more often than not – behind the bar !
Let’s party hard and show this Stuttgart cat what Munich has to offer…
DOIN IT with Bobby diBob, Not FX, Phil Ipp, Dan Gerous, Lütze Schmütze und Mütze, Dee Kleine and errbody else…
scream
So I have been kinda absent from the blogging world for a while, but that doesnt mean I haven’t been listening to new music. And as there is a “Doin It” date coming up tomorrow, so I’d like to entrust this gem of an artist to you guys – as you will probably hear some of his songs during my set.
The young man I am speaking of is “Childish Gambino”. I must admit that I haven’t been payin’ to much attention to his career so far ( even though I heard and liked his name quite a few times ), until I was pointed to one song directly. And I have to say, – I really slept on the guy !
The song was “Freeks an Geeks” and I was hooked from the first few seconds in. To keep it short, the guy is MEGA talented in all different trades. As I learned he’s not only accountable for the production and the rhymes of course, but his wiki labels him as an actor, writer ( ie. the TV Show “30Rock “) , and a comedian – plus he was really close in becoming the new Spiderman !
Anyway I haven’t heard that many ambiguities in lines in ….well…. almost ever. So if you are music interested, please take the time to read through his lyrics here.
I highly recommend his “EP” and the new album “Camp” – but below is one of my favorites and the one song that got me hooked, “Freaks An Geeks”.
Wow, just pulled that out by total accident. This gets me in such a reminiscing state… In the late 90ies, my whole world was just collecting records… and so I was working at BamBam Records to get my hands on every scrape of the black gold – and this was a huge one.
DJ Premier was “the” goto producer at the time, so naturally everybody and their mother was pumpin’ this track. And what a banger it is…
So without further ado :
Paula Perry – Xtra Xtra

I hope you had a blast on new years. I had. And I slept till 1.30 today and I can’t walk straight line still.
But the weekend is comin’ and after a few days of chillin’ and relaxin’, I expect all ya’ll to show up for our next “Doin It” partey. The guest of honor will be none other than Mr. DJ Dynamite of the infamous, notorious and good looking band “Dynamite Deluxe”. He is one hell of a producer and a great dj !… plus an overall nice dude anyways. I really look forward to this.
Here is one of my favorite songs the man produced back in 2001 of his album “Welcome To My World”. “Uptown Top Rankin” was a remake of the 1978 song by Althea & Donna. It featured the then 21 year old Estelle and went straight in my playlist…
If you enjoy this tune come by this saturday as I will try to get him to play an all dancehall set.
Bring your cans, lighters, whistles, rattles and …. basically anything that makes noise or gives of a light.

Ho! Ho! Ho! Christmas is coming.. or should we call it Cruxmas this year ? ( I simply should stop djing and become a comedian already , I know ) ’cause after a traditional family feast on christmas eve, we – Mr. Nuke Ellington and Dj Scream (that’s me) – will be on the decks at the one and only Crux Club !
As you can see here we have been workin on our christmas spirit for quite a while now ( check the mixtape ) and so I hope to see you all on the 24th to party with us.
